FREEMANS BUYS AN AMDAHL 5860 MAINFRAME SYSTEM

The Freemans mail order firm expects to complete full automation of its clerical operations by the end of May when it takes delivery of an Amdahl 5860 mainframe system to run an ADR database for its main on-line system: the Amdahl 5860 will run the database under MVS/XA using CICS and replaces a 3083BX.
