Startups can gain free access to Europe’s largest cloud platform for a year after Interoute launched its own package to rival that of Amazon Web Services today.
Interoute’s Jump Startup package lets startups and developers use its virtual data centres (VDCs), as well as giving them unrestricted access to its network of cloud computing, with free data transfer across Europe.
The package provides access to VDC zones in Paris and Berlin, free in-and-out data transfer and live online support.
The deal includes 2GB worth of RAM and 60GB of storage, which the provider claims is enough to build a variety of virtual machines, while startups can upgrade to Interoute’s full VDC service if they want.
The news comes in the same month as Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched its own two-tier packages of cloud access under the Activate programme, offering independent startups and those under the umbrella of an accelerator or incubator different levels of free access.
Interoute CTO Matthew Finnie said: "Starting a business is tough, you need every second of the day to focus on product development, sales and marketing in order to drive revenues.
