Paris-based Genesys SA, a teleconferencing service provider, announced Tuesday its acquisition of Darome Teleconferencing UK and its imminent entry onto Paris’ Nouveau Marche. Genesys specializes in automated and user-managed teleconferencing services, and holds a 40% market share in France, with operations also in Sweden, Belgium and Germany. The companies are of equal size; in 1996, Genesys recorded sales of $5.45m (FF 32.7m) with a net income of approximately $600,000, while Darome had sales of $6.18m (FF 37.1m) and a net of $1.45m (FF 8.7m). This year, the new group expects to generate sales of over $17m (FF 100m), the companies said. Genesys expects to be listed on the market in a few weeks, pending approval from the regulatory authorities.
