FRANCE TELECOM’S ITINERIS EXPECTED TO FINALLY BREAK EVEN

France Telecom Mobiles, the cellular and paging services arm of France Telecom reports that sales rose 72% last year to $1.95bn, but the Itineris cellular phone business is now expected to break even in 1997, a year behind schedule. Itineris now has 1.4 million subscribers, up from 1.3 million at the end of December, and the target is to increase its subscriptions by 1million this year.
