After four months, French atomic power station builder Framatome SA is close to success in its white knight role as preferred partner for industrial controls specialist Telemecanique SA over Schneider SA which launched the original hostile bid for Telemecanique: Schneider says that if Framatome sweetens its existing offer to top Schneider’s 5,400F- a share bid, it will accept with respect to the 22% of Telemecanique it now holds, and withdraw.
