Floating Point Systems Inc, better known these days as FPS Computing, warns that it will report a loss of more than $6m for its fiscal second quarter, up from the $3.1m loss of a year ago, and that sales will be down about 30% from the $11.3m reported for the first quarter because of tailing off of sales of its old attached floating point processors, and discounting of the 500EA machines in wake of the Sparc launch.
