Singapore Telecommunications Ltd, Telekom Malaysia Sdn Bhd, PT Indosat and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co Ltd have formed joint venture to co-ordinate and market telecommunications services to multinational companies in the region. The Communication Authority of Thailand and Jabatan Telekom Brunei may join the alliance, making it a full Asean partnership. The as yet unnamed joint venture company will be based in Kuala Lumpur and is designed to offer customers from any part of the world the ability to enjoy one-stop shopping in the ASEAN region. The partners plan to develop clearing house functions for ordering, provisioning, billing maintenance and customer support and they aim to offer intra-regional private leased services and facilities management.
