FOUR-LINE FIBRE LINKS FOR IBM AS/400

Optical fibre networks supplier Fibernet Ltd has released a multiplexer, the FX7440W, that enables the twinaxial outputs from up to four IBM System/36, System/38 and AS/400 machines, or four connections to a single machine, to be carried on a single fibre optic cable. Aldermaston, Berkshire-based Fibernet says the multiplexer can be connected to seven IBM terminals and printers, and supports up to 12dB 50-micron cable, with a long distance unit supporting up to 20dB.
