Cary, 86, was serving as a director of Lexmark International Inc.
During Cary’s tenure at IBM he successfully led the company’s expansion into new markets outside its traditional mainframe business, notably personal computers, graphics terminals and IT consulting. He guided IBM through some the of strongest financial returns of all US companies at the time.
