Orlando, Florida-based Visteon Corp is less than happy that the giant Ford Motor Co has decided to rename its $16bn parts organization Visteon. The original Visteon, in business since 1991 but only called Visteon since 1995, says it was floored when it heard the news. Visteon sells software to large physician group practices in the healthcare industry, and says its typical customers read Business Week, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today – where Ford’s Visteon ads have been appearing. This type of powerplay by such a large company has the potential to destroy a small, growing, entrepreneurial concern like ours, said Visteon chief executive officer David Greenberg.
