Seems that one company is no longer enough to hold all the ideas bubbling up in Mitch Kapor’s mind, and after helping to found GO Corp in San Francisco (CI No 777), he has formed of ON Technology Inc in Cambridge, Massachusetts to develop technology for system software and applications aimed at making personal computers easier to use and more widely applicable. ON will seek to create an innovative platform for software development to support a new class of personal, group and public information systems. Lotus founder Kapor will be chairman, and Peter Miller, former director of advanced technology at Lotus, will be president. Kapor is providing the initial financing for the company, and expects to spend the majority of his time on this new venture as a principal designer of the company’s products – which are not likely to emerge for two years.
