In Focus Systems Inc, Tualatin, Oregon will make additional investments of $1.5m to $3.5m in Motif Inc, its liquid crystal display joint venture with Motorola Inc this year: the investment will cover operating expenses, an increase in plant capacity and development of a second Active Addressing application specific integrated circuit; the amount of the new investment depends on design and fabrication requirements of the Active Addressing development programme; In Focus expects to make investments and take operating losses in 1995 comparable to 1994 levels; further infusion may be necessary in 1996 and beyond, but Motif expects to be profitable by then.
