Fluke Networks has released a new version of OptiView Network Analyser, which it claims to speed network and application troubleshooting across wired and wireless networks.
Fluke Networks said that it integrated its recently acquired AirMagnet Wi-Fi Analyser and AirMagnet Survey software onto its new portable network management and analysis offering. The offering’s new new wireless option provides IT network staff and engineers visibility on both sides of the access point when installing and maintaining 802.11 wireless LANs.
The company claims that the new version reduces the number of analysis tools to carry, manage, learn and maintain by creating one tool for the entire lifecycle of wireless deployment. The 802.11a/b/g/n toolset enables network professionals to discover, diagnose, solve and report problems, while automatically detecting security threats and other wireless network vulnerabilities.
According to Fluke Networks, the Active WLAN diagnostic tools enable network engineers to test and diagnose common wireless performance issues including throughput issues, connectivity issues, device conflicts and signal multipath problems. OptiView 5.4’s additional features allow network engineers to monitor 10Gig interfaces via SNMP-based infrastructure analysis and analyse traffic flows on links.
In addition, analyser’s network discovery has been enhanced for speed and depth of vision into wireless LANs, and VoIP analysis has been strengthened with the ability to simultaneously place VoIP calls from the analyzer itself while testing call quality, Fluke Networks said.
