Considering the growing population in the Central Florida area, Florida Hospital also requires an IT system that can be efficiently and accurately scaled. BMC Software continues to support the hospital’s growth, including the planned addition of 440 new patient beds, as well as one of the emergency departments and the largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country.
According to the company, along with additional patient care comes the need for accurate and timely billing practices to ensure the hospital’s business health. The BMC DB2 for z/OS services help run the hospital’s Predictive Proration program, which forecasts the benefits or drawbacks for each contract negotiation with a vendor or insurance provider.
Bob Goodman, database administrator of Florida Hospital, said: While we see more patient visits than any other hospital in the country, each individual patient is unique and deserves the best healthcare service available. With BMC Software we are able to spend time addressing the needs of our patients without concerns that a technology disruption could impact our ability to deliver the highest standard of care.
