FLOATING POINT SYSTEMS CLAIMS BENCHMARKS ACHIEVED BY T 100

By CBR Staff Writer

Floating Point Systems Inc is still trickling out news of benchmarks achieved by its Transputer-based T 100 Transputer-based supercomputer: in the latest, the machine achieved a matrix multiply benchmark of 596 MFLOPS with 64-bit accuracy, which represents approximately 78% of the machine’s theoretical peak performance rating; the Beaverton, Oregon company reckons that the performance is about three times the peak speed of a Cray Research X-MP/12.
