Flickr has accidentally deleted an account of its member that had 4000 images.
Flickr member Mirco Wilhelm had complained to the photo sharing site that another member was hosting stolen photos and that he had linked to his account.
In response, Flickr mixed up the accounts and accidentally deleted Wilhelm’s account instead of that of the member he complained about.
The photo sharing site has offered an apology to the member.
A response from the Flickr staff said, "Unfortunately, I have mixed up the accounts and accidentally deleted yours. I am terribly sorry for this grave error and hope that this mistake can be reconciled."
Flickr has offered to restore Wilhelm’s account and add four years of free Pro, while saying that it may not be able to retrieve the photos.
