Through Norwich Union’s new ‘Roadsense’ programme, a team of fleet risk advisors provide free risk advice and support on a select portfolio of services to Norwich Union’s fleet customers. The portfolio covers areas such as legal issues, risk management training, health and safety, driver training, vehicle security and operating costs. Today’s announcement means that Fleetstar will be included within the Roadsense programme.

The Fleetstar system is supported by the powerful Trafficmaster telematics platform and combines state-of-the-art GPS tracking technology and a specially developed GSM module. By combining the ability to view both historic and real time activity on vehicle movements, it can provide a range of important management reports on key aspects of driver and vehicle performance, helping to improve productivity and drive down operating costs.

Chris Haynes, Chief Executive, Fleetstar Information Systems commented:

In the first 12 months of operation, Fleetstar has successfully taken its product to market and has now secured its first strategic alliance, a significant agreement, which will further augment Fleetstar’s position as the most technically advanced

fleet management system on the market.

Ian Greenwood, Norwich Union Insurance’s fleet and motor trade product manager, added: We selected Fleetstar because it provides the most comprehensive and cost effective solution to many of the problems encountered by fleet managers, potentially delivering dramatic cost savings and tighter operational control to our customers. We believe it will be an important and valuable service within the Roadsense portfolio.
