FIVE MORE UNIX FIRMS ADOPT ORACLE RDBMS

By CBR Staff Writer

Oracle Corp has picked up five more contracts from Unix systems manufacturers for its SQL-based Oracle relational database manager and tools. The five are Sequent Computer Systems for the Balance 8000 and 21000; Sun Microsystems for its workstations; Plexus Computer for its P/series; Altos for its Unix machines; and NCR for the Tower range. Oracle will be available on Sequent and Sun machines this quarter, in April for Plexus, in the third quarter for for Altos, while NCR has already started; all bar the Sun pact involve Oracle in joint marketing.
