Although terms of the deal were undisclosed, a report in the Indian publication Business Standard puts the price tag at roughly $30m, based on market sources.
As part of the transaction, Firstsource will acquire BPM’s wholly owned subsidiaries, Medplans Partners and Medplans 2000, which provide outsourced claims management and adjudication services. Firstsource expects the deal to extend its reach into the US healthcare sector and provide some cross-selling opportunities with BPM’s customer base.
The deal gives Firstsource, which has 17 delivery centers across the world, including three in the United States, three additional US centers. The company now has some 800 employees in the United States. About 300 employees would keep their jobs at BPM after the deal.
