Santa Clara, California-based Symphony Laboratories Inc claims to be the first company to offer a single personal computer core logic building block chip set for all available microprocessors, including Intel Corp’s new 80486DX2, with the two- or three-device Haydn chip set: it says the set supports all cache or non-cache Intel and Advanced Micro Devices Inc 80386- and 80486-based systems at all speeds; the SL82C460 set comprises a system controller and a bus controller and an optional cache controller chip can be added if cache capability is required; all are shipped as 50MHz versions; the set is available now and is $31 in 1,000-up quantities.
