Believing that integration would be easier, the bank had initially selected the remote capture solution offered by its core processor. However, after numerous delays and setbacks in the testing phase, First Chatham began considering other vendors. The bank was focused on finding a system that would seamlessly integrate with its core and one that could be quickly deployed.
Joyce Kenard, vice president of First Chatham Bank, said: By year end, our goal is to have 60 customers using Remote Deposit Express. When we began, the bank felt it paramount to ensure that our current customers knew about the product the price, benefits, features and ease of use. Increasing our deposit base was the primary driver in implementing a remote deposit solution, with our objectives being two-fold. First, we wanted to increase our deposit relationships with existing customers, and secondly, we wanted to target our loan customers who had banking relationships elsewhere. So far, we have been successful, and we look forward to expanding our focus to include prospective commercial customers.
