IBM and First Boston Corp joined forces to form Seer Technologies Inc in New York City to provide integrated trading and investment management application systems for the financial services industry. The company was formed out of an existing First Boston unit, and it will be held by the corporate partners, management and other employees. Seer Technologies will develop and market the NewArc 2000 multi-currency, multi-entity and global trade processing system for shares, foreign exchange, money market, fixed income, options and futures. It is based on two First Boston-developed systems that run on 3090s under MVS, System/88s and PS/2s.
