Three-year-old Firefox Communications Ltd, the Birmingham-based supplier of integrated NetWare communications servers, has formed a US company to bring its TCP/IP communications systems to the American market. The new firm, Firefox Inc, is based in Seattle, Washington and begins operations this month. Firefox will introduce Novix for NetWare, its Unix and TCP/IP host communications system at InterOp this week. It removes the need for NetWare workstations to run multiple protocol stacks. It is also said to be the first Unix communications product built as an integrated service of the NetWare server. Novix has been available in the UK since early 1992 and the company says that the thing has been picked up by Parliament, British Petroleum Plc, GEC Plc and British Telecommunications Plc. It says that its US offspring will be recruiting distributors and resellers.
