Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute joins Fujitsu’s Patja managed IT serices

Includes desktop environment, hardware and software related services

By CBR Staff Writer

Fujitsu Services and Ministry of Agriculture and Foresty have signed a framework agreement in September, covering IT infrastructure services on workstations. Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute (RKTL) joined in the agreement at the end of October.

The main task of the institute include assessing, compiling statistics and predicting fishery and game resources and maintaining the diversity of fish populations.

Under the agreement, the support services on RKTL’s workstations will be provided in compliance with Fujitsu’s Patja service model, and one IT specialist will also be transferred from RKTL to Fujitsu.

According to Fujitsu, the framework agreement incorporates the basic IT services and it also includes various desktop environment, hardware and software related services such as helpdesk, on-site support and software maintenance and repair service on desktop devices.

In addition, the agreement covers management and support services on desktop software, office applications and the related servers and hardware and software procurement and financing services.

Antero Vuorio, sales director of Fujitsu, said: “We are happy to see that already two agencies have joined in this framework agreement. The comprehensive and flexible framework agreement we now signed proves that the Patja service model is perfectly applicable to the fluctuating needs of government agencies, too.

“We have deep insight in the specific needs of the government sector – in terms of contingency and information security requirements, for example – and these issues are all covered in the newly signed framework agreement. With our cost-efficient service model we are also able to support the agencies’ productivity programmes very effectively.”
