The vendor said that small and medium sized businesses (SMBs), from independent insurance brokers to agents and providers, are increasing their reliance on technology to run their businesses. As they increase the number and types of applications within their IT infrastructure, they are more susceptible to unforeseen expenses like upgrades, customization and integration costs.

While the initial expense of a software installation may impact only one department of an organization, if that product has to interface with, search information in, or access data stored in other applications across the organization, custom configuration and integration requirements will increase the cost of implementation.

FileVision says that its said new product module, the Application Integrator, allows users to access information from and interact with other proprietary software with a point-and-click configuration, without incurring the expense of hiring an outside firm to do custom integration.

The new FileVision 4.5 system offers end-to-end information management by relationally linking data from electronic files with paper documents, processing action items through a workflow manager and enabling secure and easy search access to the information. The FileVision Application Integrator gives users the ability to pull data from another application without the expense of custom integration. This data can be used to search for a document, index a document or populate and search the profiler, eliminating the time-consuming task of data entry.
