FileNet Corp, Costa Mesa, California has come out with four new products that together add two-sided scanning, photo scanning, on-line Optical Character Recognition and lower-cost laser printing to the functions available through its family of optical disk-based systems. It also has a new high-end model in its family of optical disk libraries, which can store up to 14.4m 8.5 by 11 document images, each retrievable at a workstation in under 20 seconds. New software enables Novell NetWare users to access FileNet libraries and display the images alongside data and text on their personal computers, and packages to enable new workstations from Sun Microsystems DEC to use FileNet image processing capabilities.
