Fifth Third extends CheckFree’s contract

CheckFree Corporation has welcomed a multi-year contract extension with Fifth Third Bancorp that includes consumer-based electronic bill payment services and corporate payment and reconciliation solutions.

By CBR Staff Writer

In addition to the contract, CheckFree also basks in the pride of being named one of Fifth Third’s strategic, preferred technology providers. According to CheckFree, the renewed relationship provides Fifth Third with a solution provider that can help it maintain the quality of service it is recognized for.

Given that customer focus seems to be a core concern for all financial services at present, Bruce Hobbs, vice president alternative delivery of Fifth Third Bank said, It was important to us to continue providing our bill payment customers with a high-quality user experience, while maintaining the bottom- line value only CheckFree can bring.

The move signifies an increasing reliance of financial services on technology for solution providers, a trend which only seems set to continue.
