FIBRENET MAGNUM100 MULTIPLEXER’s NEW I/O MODULE

Fibernet Ltd, based in Aldermaston, Berkshire, has announced a new input-output module for its Magnum100 optical fibre multiplexer aimed at users of the AS/400, System/36 and System/38: the CC8868W enables the integration of structured cabling networks using a mixture of coaxial, unshielded twisted pair and optical fibre, and it has four DB-25 connectors supporting one of two control units via unshielded twisted pair, with the others offering connection to locally attached devices at the control side; each module can support up to 80 users, and 16 of those can be installed on the Magnum 100; the thing comes in at around #1,340.
