The Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based company has its own network and so can offer remote connectivity, both fixed and unwired, for portable devices such as laptops, PDAs, or smart phones, but increasingly licensing activity around its Extend360 remote access client is divorced from network provision.

The launch of Fiberlink Professional Service is designed to further that trend, supporting its efforts to get the client deployed in more companies and generating additional revenue into the bargain.

Beyond the implementation services per se, Fiberlink said the PS arm will offer methodologies, best practices, and consultancy services, with a particular emphasis on device vulnerability and compliance requirements. PS is offering a vulnerability assessment program as part of the security focus, for instance. It will also provide security and mobility education and training.
