FERRANTI INTERNATIONAL TO DEVELOP SOFTWARE FOR THE ROYAL NAVY

By CBR Staff Writer

Ferranti International Signal Plc has signed a UKP4m contract to develop software for the Royal Navy’s new lightweight Sea Wolf close area defence weapon, GWS 26 Mod 2; GEC-Marconi Ltd and British Aerospace Plc will also be involved in the project, parts of which will be sub-contracted to Marconi Radar Systems of Chelmsford, Essex; the software will be written in Coral 66 because earlier versions of Seawolf were developed before Ada became the military applications development environment standard.
