Ferranti Business Communications Ltd is about to launch an insurance scheme called PABX Sureline that offers cover to the company’s customers, as well as to those in the process of buying a Ferranti telecomminications system, in the event of any PABX system shut-down caused by fire, flood or sabotage: under the scheme Ferranti will either deliver a mobile PABX in a trailer, or install a traditional system within the affected building, at any site in the UK within 24 hours of an emergency being reported, and the scheme also allows the insured party to keep the replacement for up to six months; entry will be via a joining fee and annual subscription, and discounts will be available to users with more than one PABX in their networks, but Ferranti cannot quote any typical prices.
