Feedback Plc, Crowborough, Essex has again announced pre-tax losses, ú679,000 this time, up from ú374,000 last time, on turnover that fell 2.4% to ú4.1m. The company, which designs, manufactures and sells a range of electronic, electric and computer equipment for education and industry, blamed the disappointing results on low levels of export business and delays in finalising contracts. In his report, chairman J H Westcott says the overall performance of the group in the first half of the year has been disappointing. The broadening of the customer base into the areas of staff rostering and scheduling, and of access control, has involved considerable investment, but although the first orders for pilot installations have been secured, the new departure is unlikely to improve results for the current year, said the company. A number of measures were outlined in his statement to return Feedback to the black. Contracts have been exchanged for the sale of the Uckfield property and plans have been laid to amalgamate the manufacturing activities of the two trading subsidiaries at the Crowborough site. Proceeds from the sale will be used to reduce debts. Feedback is now undergoing a complete re-organisation, but at this stage it is unclear how this will affect the company.
