Federal agencies now able to test drive Microsoft software

Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Citrix Systems is working with software giant Microsoft to enable federal software buyers to test drive applications developed by Microsoft and other Independent Software Vendor partners online before purchasing.

By CBR Staff Writer

According to Citrix, the project will involve the utilization of the Microsoft Test Drive Center, which was developed by Citrix Systems in partnership with Runaware, an evaluation service provider.

The center aims to offer federal buyers access to managed software demonstrations and evaluations through applications that run on Windows servers via a secure connection using Citrix Access Suite.

Microsoft Test Drive allows Microsoft’s Federal partners to quickly and conveniently show how their products meet the business needs of government agencies, said Mark Goldman, area vice president, government systems for Citrix. Potential customers can experience the full functionality of Windows applications without having to endure time-consuming downloads and installations.
