Towards the middle of the year, Sterling, Vancouver-based FastComm Communications Corp is planning to release a branch office network access device, dubbed the F9610 BranchFRAD. In its base configuration, the product will come with one Ethernet port supporting Internet Protocol and Internet Packet Exchange routing, and two serial ports supporting local area network and legacy protocols including IBM Corp’s SNA/SDLC, Bisync, and Point-to-Point Protocol. Additionally, the company is planning to incorporate two built-in PC Card slots supporting Token Ring, modem and Integrated Services Digital Network-back-up applications. On the wide area networking side, the product will come with a single port for T1/E1 Frame Relay, or X.25. Prices will be starting at $1,900.
