3 Italy, which is the mobile video company of Hutchison Whampoa Group Ltd in Italy, has chose FAST’s mSearch technology to power its mobile search of multimedia content stored and managed on its 3 Portal platform.
Oslo-based FAST claims that mSearch is the industry’s first mobile search solution to collectively integrate multimedia content – such as games, music, games, images and ring tones – with content from the mobile Web directly from mobile devices. The mSearch technology is architected on top of FAST’s Enterprise Search Platform.
3 Italy has more than 3.56 million subscribers in Italy alone and is the first carrier in the Italian market to launch a 3G mobile Portal.
