Meantime Faraday has laid down the gauntlet to Chips & Technology Inc with what it claims are the the most highly integrated chip sets for Personalike makers currently available. The 8- and 16-bit sets reduce the scores of logic circuits inside Personalikes to two or four integrated circuits respectively. The two-chip set for the XT and the Personal System/2 Model 30, replaces 79 parts on a typical XT motherboard design. The 10MHz FE2010A for XT-alikes is $28.30 for 100-up and the FE2020 is priced at $14.80 in 100-unit quantities. The 12MHz FE3400 AT-compatible chip set is $118 for 100-up.
