FANUC HAS SW DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT FOR CREATION OF CONTROL PROGRAMS

Fanuc Ltd, world number one in numerical control equipment, has a software development environment for creation of control programs for car body welding robots on a Sony Corp News workstation, reducing the time to create new control programs by 66%; once the program is written, simulation of the robot operation can be run on a Tektronix Inc 4330 graphics terminal using a three dimensional animation display; the program is $120,000, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries has something similar for the IBM RT, but has no reported sales.
