The fall in DEC’s share price may have been exacerbated by news that senior vice-president sales, services, marketing and international John Shields had resigned to pursue other interests, because he is likely stored in many peoples’ memory banks as a likely successor to founder and president Kenneth Olsen – but his departure had been widely rumoured in the wake of the firm’s disappointing sales growth, particularly in the US, but the loss is still seen as serious for DEC.
