FairMarket Inc has added self-service features to the business- to-business auction site it launched earlier this year. FairMarket now provides a forum for sellers of computer products to list their own products for sale. It’s as if we are allowing the seller to open their own store, says CEO Scott Randall. Randall is sanguine about the entry of rivals like Excite Inc into the online auction market. He says FairMarket will continue to focus on business to business transactions. With the site generating 500 to one thousand logs per auction per day and the company skimming 2% off each sale, that’s probably a safe enough move.
