Facebook is planning to launch video advertising in its newsfeed in July this year in order to generate more revenue.
Business Insider reported that the new video ads will appear in a user’s newsfeed with the first video is expected to start automatically without any sound.
Users will also have the option to activate audio where the video will restart from the beginning.
Facebook has reported a 38% rise in its year on year revenue to $1.45bn for the first quarter of 2013 boosted by new advertising products.
Revenue from advertising grew 43% to $1.25bn for the quarter and mobile advertising revenue represented about 30% of advertising revenue.
In the past few months, the company it has launched new advertising products such as Lookalike Audiences, Managed Custom Audiences, and Partner Categories.
Last month, Facebook rolled out its Promoted Page Likes globally after introducing to US businesses in December 2012.
The new feature will allow users to run ads and promote their pages as well as create ads directly from their page to attract more fans.
Last month, Facebook agreed to acquire the San Francisco-based mobile startup application, Parse, in a cash-and-stock deal.
The acquisition will allow Facebook to enable developers to build apps that can be used in both the mobile platforms and devices.
