Windows desktop client for Facebook Messenger has been officially launched that allows users to keep tabs on notifications, friend requests, ticker, and chat all without opening your browser.

Messenger for Windows, which is a one-time set up that allows all future updates to be automatically installed, basically brings the right-hand side of your Facebook home page to your desktop.

Users can listen in with friends or view pictures via the desktop app, which is now available via public download link in the social media site’s Help Center, and will only run on will only run on Windows 7 operating system.

With the new client, users will be able to see the latest updates from their community, chat and message with Facebook friends, and get quick notifications.
