Social networking site Facebook has launched ‘The Facebook for Every Phone’ app at would make the service available on phones that are not smartphones or feature phones.

Smartphones have a powerful processor that make them run applications like Facebook. Most smartphones also come with integration with social networking sites such as Facebook.

In January this year, phone maker HTC launched its ‘Facebook Phone’.

With this new app, Facebook hopes that experiencing its service would not be limited to smartphone users. He company said that the app will "offer a fast and comprehensive Facebook experience" in feature phones.

The move is targeted at growing economies where the feature phone user base is wide.

Facebook has said that "At Facebook, we work to ensure people around the world have a great Facebook experience no matter where they are or how they access our site."

The new Java based app will provide some of the most popular Facebook features such as News Feed, Inbox and Photos. It will also have an integration feature with phone contacts.
