Facebook is relocating from Palo Alto to Menlo Park in California this June.
The social networking service headquarters will soon occupy Sun Microsystems’ former campus.
The deal is reportedly the area’s biggest office leasing deal in size since 1991. However, financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. The premise Facebook will be moving into was constructed in 1995 for Sun Microsystems.
Facebook’s chief financial officer David Ebersman said the relocation is expected to begin in mid-June.
Ebersman said: "We were attracted to the campus that Sun had built, to the location in Menlo Park that had central accessibility from around the Bay Area, to the local amenities, and extremely attracted to all the support that we got from local officials."
The over 2,000 employee strong company said it will continue to occupy its offices in Palo Alto.
