F5 unveils application ready offering for Microsoft Lync Server 2010

Optimises customers unified communications environments

Application delivery networking provider F5 Networks has introduced the Application Ready Solution for Microsoft Lync Server 2010, which ensures availability and reliability for Lync Server 2010 services to optimise customers unified communications (UC) environments.

The company said that Application Ready Solution provides a tailor-made environment to work with Lync Server 2010, to enable real-time communications.

In addition, the new offering is an integrated, tested, and documented offering that provide improved availability through intelligent load balancing, combined with SSL offloading, TCP optimisations, and simple scalability, improved performance to ensure a better user experience.

The offering also increases administrator efficiency through application templates, Microsoft policies, and configuration guidance that reduce deployment cycles by one third.

Microsoft Lync group product manager Ashima Singhal said F5’s unique and continued investment on the Microsoft UC platform demonstrates the company’s excellent understanding of how to ensure that sophisticated application software is highly responsive and highly available.

"Customers who invest in both the Microsoft and F5 platforms benefit from an enterprise class offering to reliably deliver communications features to end users that are easily manageable by IT," Singhal said.
