F5 Q4 revenue up 45% to $254.3m

Service revenue up 34% on year-ago quarter

US network equipment maker F5 Networks has reported revenue of $254.3m for the fourth quarter of 2010, an increase of 45% compared to $175.1m in the year-ago quarter.

Revenue from products increased to $165m, compared to $109m and services revenue grew 34% to $89m compared to $66.3m for the same quarter last year

For the fourth quarter ended on 30 September 2010, operating income increased by 90% to $76.3m from $40.1m for the same quarter previous year.

Net income was $48.2m, compared to net income of $28.4m, while diluted EPS grew 63% to $0.59 compared to $0.36 for the same period last year.

The company posted revenue of $882m for the full year ended 30 September 2010, an increase of 64%, compared to $653.1m in 2009.

Operating income for the year was $230m, up 89% from $122m in 2009. Net income was up 64% to $151.2m from $92m in 2009, while net income per share increased to $1.86 from $1.14.

For the first quarter 2011, the company expects revenue between $265m and $270m and diluted EPS between $0.62 and $0.64.
