An integrated symbolic software application development system for the Apple Computer Inc Macintosh II series, Action! Developer System, has been announced by Goleta-based ExperTelligence Inc. Claimed to be the the first software engineering tool for the Mac to integrate Action!, the development tool technology orginally developed by ExperTelligence on the microExplorer, it incorporates the Macintosh Tool Box Interface, developed by ExperTelligence and adapted by Procyon Ltd, and the Procyon Developer System which is distributed by ExperTelligence. Using this system a developer can develop on a native Macintosh, compile and deliver stand-alone in record time and unprecedented quality. Applications that could have taken from three to five man years to be developed now take less than six months, are much easier to use and are bug free, the company claims. Applications generated by the system using a recomended 8Mb can run on a 5Mb configuration. President of ExperTelligence, Denison Bollay believes that advanced Macintosh developers can, for the first time, use a completely integrated system that is better than most of those found on dedicated Lisp machines or high-end workstations. Dr John Forge, vice-president, believes the product will triple the company’s potential market in the corporate area. The full system is available now from ExperTelligence at an introductory price of $3,000, which includes the manuals, 25 floppies containing the various programs, 100 examples and support from the company.
