EXPANSION-MINDED MASTECH EXPECTS GROWTH IN AUSTRALIA

By CBR Staff Writer

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania services provider Mastech Corp has acquired Australian information technology and telecommunications services operation Pacific Computer Consultants Pty Ltd. The purchase forms the first stage of Mastech’s plan to achieve rapid growth on an international level as a result of acquisition: the company has tripled its international workforce in the past twelve months. The Sydney-based services company will be merged with Mastech’s existing Australian operation, operating as a subsidiary under the name Mastech Asia-Pacific. The office will employ some 150 staff under the command of Asia Pacific founder and chief executive officer John Silk. Asia Pacific was established almost ten years ago and has built up a list of clients that includes IT services giant Electronic Data Systems Corp, Asia Pacific providing an array of services including supplemental staff. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
