Expand Networks has unveiled an upgrade to its operating system OS 6.3, which it claims to improve the functionality, value and installation of its Accelerators.

The company claims that this new OS runs across range of physical and virtual Accelerator offerings, and introduces advanced features to help customers achieve increased performance, greater WAN provisioning capabilities and improved management and monitoring efficiencies.

According to Expand, the OS 6.3 includes Layer 7 QoS that enables organisations to maximise their WAN infrastructure; and comes with various new features that enable organisations to deploy in a more intuitive way including, central configuration, SCPS TCP Acceleration auto configuration; and extended ability to optimise and control physical and additional virtual bandwidth in dynamic environments.

In addition, the new and enhanced features include, enhanced VMware Vsphere4 integration; enhanced web caching for non hard drive appliances; and enhanced TCP Acceleration with Hybla.

Efi Gatmor, CTO of Expand Networks, said: “These latest OS advancements further enhance Layer 7 visibility and ease of use, to provide greater control and optimisation of the WAN thus enabling organisations to assure the quality of user experience across complex environments.”
