EXCESS INVENTORY PROBLEMS

The first garage – car boot? – sale of new computers is to be staged by a string of computer and peripheral manufacturers in the Los Angeles area who are desperate to resolve excess inventory problems: the sale will include over $19m of MS-DOS micros and laptops, laser and matrix printers, optical scanners, hard disk drives, modems, monitors, accessories, facsimile machines and copiers from the likes of NEC Home Electronics, Citizen, Xerox, Nutmeg, Cipher Data, Micropolis, Saba, Computer Accessories and Anchor; Micro Sale 88 is directed by Fred Brown, president of MIX, a Santa Barbara company specialising in excess inventory sales and will be run from November 26 to December 4.
