Carol Mills, former general manager of Hewlett-Packard Co’s enterprise systems division, has turned up at Acta Technology Inc as president and CEO. Start-up Acta does pre-packaged warehouse for packaged applications – SAP R/3 is its first incarnation. Mills left HP at the beginning of the year after the enterprise systems division was split into the internet and application systems division (the WebQoS and Domain crowd) under Nigel Ball; and the high performance systems division (V-Class, OLTP, data warehousing, server consolidation and five nines) under Janice Chaffin. Chaffin used to be Mills’ job share partner heading up the old division. Both general managers will report into Bill Russell who heads the enterprise systems group, which also includes enterprise Windows NT servers, MPE, storage and Veriphone.
